My name is Nobuou Mukai.  I was born the eldest of three children in Muika City, Simane Prefecture.  From the time I was in elementary school, my parents could not control me.  I refused to listen to anyone.  I was a brat with no chance of becoming anything. In order to quiet my parent’s complaints after graduating from school, I quickly moved to Osaka and was thrown into the rough waters of society.  All I did was drink, gamble, and carouse.  I was a worthless human being.

   I was living out on the streets after being out of work close to a month, when one early morning Brian approached me.  This is what he asked, “How can I help you?”  At that point I had not had anything to eat or drink for days, so I was starving.  He handed me a Bible and told me to wait there while he went and bought me something to eat.  I read the Bible that he gave me from early in the morning until the sun went down. 

    I have learned through my reading that Jesus had paid the price for all of my sin and was put upon the cross and rose again three days later.  I received eternal life from Jesus Christ.  From the bottom of my heart I have confidence that I have received Jesus as my Savior.  I professed Christ in front of Brian, a little after 8pm on the night of September 9, 2006. There is a verse in the Bible that impressed me at that time.  It talks about God giving eternal life.  We can find eternal life within the Son, Jesus Christ.  “He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” I John 5:12.   I have received much grace.

          I want to live the remainder of my life for the benefit of Jesus.  Finally I would like to share another verse with you.  “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
